Research

Previously, I was involved in epidemiological studies that explore the mechanism of arsenic induced chronic diseases. For my PhD level research, I choose to work in the field of cancer immunotherapy and find Dr. Burnett’s lab, who is working on different immunotherapeutic drug against Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).  My current research project in this lab is focusing on exploring the anti-tumor effect of systemic IL-1 as well as evaluating the toxicities associated with it. We are trying to find out whether nanoparticle formulation could reduce the toxicities and enhance the antitumor efficacy of this cytokine drug. We are also evaluating the combined anti-tumor effect of IL-1a, radiation and different checkpoint inhibitors against HNSCC through in vivo and in vitro studies. I am also involved in other projects related to the anti-tumor effect of Toll like receptor -9 agonist and radiotherapy against HNSCC cancer.
